EPAS on a SE5A

Post by CarlosVanDango » Mon Jan 21, 2019 6:58 pm

hi just after collecting some info, i haven't even got my new Scimitar running yet but when i do i would like to fit power steering one day, if i don't my missus will never drive it

just wondered if anyone had done it before i'm thinking EPAS will be easier to do??? from what i have read no rack is available off the shelf and a SE6 rack would be wider?

i've got access to a vauxhall corsa column i can have but not sure if it will fit?

i don't mind a bit of re-engineering fabrication etc. thats all good fun to me :)

has anyone done this before? any pics? tips etc.

cheers :D

No1 on the job list is remove the drivers seat - I did the first car with the seat in place - makes life far more difficult

Looks like you have most of the cable apart from the power ones but there is enough length left on the plug for you to just extend them. This is what I was left with after I had cut the bits off the column which were of no use.

yeah there is enough length to solder on new wires - shame i didn't get the sliding joint
it's even got the key with it but i don't think i'd be able to use it
