Yes I have noticed lot of these scams on the Lotus and loads on the Chevrolet Corvette site and the TVR one all on Ebay.
They are trying to block them but as there are so many it take some time.

The way I came across it was seeing the same ad, same photos contacting a sell by email to be told it sold last week, when asked why
is it back on Ebay "told nothing to do with me"

I think the way it works is send me a deposit of say £250 to secure the sale then the car disappears, lost deposit.

Ebay told me a long time ago they DO NOT get involved with car sale problems.

First check is always reverse image lookup - that will tell you if someone’s just using someone else’s pictures.

Hi just like to inform members the scammers are back with the Red sabre and the Purple SE5a so I wouldn't bid unless you want to loose your money.

They are all over Ebay they come onto the Lotus Excel site and are also on the TVR site and most of all on the Chevrolet Corvette site.

They're also on Gumtree and Classic Cars For Sale. Yesterday someone calling herself Isla Thomas wanted to buy our leather settee. She couldn't view it as she had health problems, would send courier etc etc. Thea Harris wanted to buy my TR4 last week. Same story. Tempted to send rude replies but just deleted instead. Suppose there are people who fall for these scams, but I wasn't born yesterday, so they've wasted their trying it on with me. Stay alert folks. Cheers for now, Mike.

Keep a close look on your own ads too. A few years ago I advertised my Lotus Elise on fleabay for £11.5 k, got a few enquiries including a few that asked why it was so cheap at only £5.5k ! My own ad had been scammed, just contact details removed and replaced with an email only and some poor excuse as to why it couldn't be inspected right away.
