Watching the show this afternoon it was about a Morris Traveller - not the one in the photo - I think I had seen it before but missed the car in the background first time around.

I find it a matter of regret that neither Wheeler Dealers or Car SOS have done a Scimitar (of any type)...yet both have done a Morris Minor,a popular car in it's day but also a rather boring one.

When Mike Brewer was judging the concours at the Silverstone Classic a couple of years ago, we tackled him about it, and he said that they would love to do one, but whenever they looked at it, they weren't able to work out a way of making it viable (even using the way they cost things, which isn't terribly realistic). Here he is, gazing lustfully at my underbonnet area!....

Tip gear could have done one when hey drove "affordable classics" - probably too reliable though for the price they paid for cars.

I don't think they thought about it much or looked for the right example very long.Roger Pennington wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 9:08 pmWhen Mike Brewer was judging the concours at the Silverstone Classic a couple of years ago, we tackled him about it, and he said that they would love to do one, but whenever they looked at it, they weren't able to work out a way of making it viable (even using the way they cost things, which isn't terribly realistic). To pick one that had been stood in a field for ages and needed totally going through would be wrong, but there are others available that are decent running cars just lacking in a handful of areas and these would have suitable...and would show a small profit when you ignore labour costs,as they do.
Looking at it another way,I believe Jim has just posted for sale a 5A with great paintwork and interior but dry stored off the road for some years. The re-commissioning of such as this would make good viewing.
Anyway it won't happen now because the programme seems to have gone to the States for good.
