Parts for sale

Post by scimmy » Thu Jan 17, 2019 5:43 pm

I have a collection of parts that I'm wishing to sell if anyone is interested. These are mainly used parts, some though are still sealed in their wrapping. I came across them in my parents loft. As far as I can tell they are for a Scimitar (an SE6a model). They incude:

2x exterior door handles
Interior window handle
Fuel cap
"Reliant Sabre and Scimitar Owners Club" badge
"GTE" badge (still sealed)
2x Scimitar badge's with the sword logo (one opened and another still sealed)
2x reflectors
Ashtray
4x wiper arms (2 still sealed)
1 wiper blade
"Scimitar" lettering for front grill

Will try and upload a photo when I get the time.

Edit:

The external door handles have a fair bit of chrome paint peeled off and some small bubbling. The fuel cap is in reasonable condition.

I have had another look at the wiper arms and it appears they don't all match. There is one black wiper which is still sealed and that does say Reliant on the packaging, and there is a silver wiper of the same length but is slightly different. The others are of a smaller size. As to what cars these maybe from I haven't a clue.

Ok. I’m willing to take a gamble.
Would you please sell me all four (different lengths, sealed and unsealed) as a job lot with the wiper blade chucked in for the total figure of £20 including P and P?

Is that a smiths time clock I can just about make out in your picture?
Does it still work?
If so could you please include that in my job lot with some slight adjustment to my final cost as I’ve also just zoomed into the “unsealed” wiper blades and discovered the rust and possibly their unsuitability for my immediate needs.
All the best

Parts for sale

Hi,

I have decided for now to sell as a local pick up only due to not being 100% sure whether the parts are from a Scimitar 6a and whether they are any good, particularly the wiper arms as I'm not sure whether they are from a Scimitar, though one that's still sealed has a Reliant logo on the packaging, but it's a black wiper arm. The badges are in good order, except the used sword badge which is missing a pin on the back. So anyone local to me (I'm in Wigan, Lancs) would be ideal. I would just really like to get rid of them as I have no use for them myself.

Reason why I haven't added any additional photos and replied to comments is because I'm away for a,few days and haven't had access to the parts and had chance to take more photos.

I think the ashtray may as well be thrown away as there's quite a bit of rust inside. Parts I didn't include where parts of the grill (incl the "Scimitar" lettering embossed across). I've no idea if they are,any good, but they kinda kinda look ok to me. I presume parts like this are hard to get hold of?.

Oh, and I've come across other bits with a Lockheed name, which I've heard is part of the cooling system. Again, I've no idea if they are any good, but I assume they might be otherwise I don't know why my dad kept them stored in the loft and as I'm pretty sure they came with one of his previous GTEs when sold by the previous owner (the previous owner by the way was a well known Scimmy member at the time from Skelmersdale named Ken Kneale), it's odd why would he throw in aload of parts with the car when they were no good?. Incidentally, I only recently realised through looking at photos of the car when my dad owned it that it didn't have the Scimitar lettering on the front as most 6a models have, so I assume the previous owner took that part off, along with the plastic grill, and modified it for some reason. Anyway, I digress.
