From carstyling.ru

The Ghia Serenissima / Aghema / Agena (G9)
The Serenissima Ghia (also known as the Aghema) was a mid-engined GT concept car designed by Tom Tjaarda and displayed at Turin in 1968. The car featured a 3 litre V8 engine.

Scuderia Serenissima was a successful auto racing team in the early 1960s. Funded by Giovanni Volpi, Serenissima used Ferraris to much success until the founder financed the exiled Ferrari company, ATS. Thereafter, Enzo Ferrari would no longer sell his cars to Serenissima, so the company turned to De Tomaso, ATS, and Maserati.

The company also developed Formula One cars, using McLaren and Lola chassis. Another V8, developed by Jaguar, found its way into a single-seat closed sports car built by Carrozzeria Sports Cars in 1969. The final Serenissima car was designed by Ghia that same year. Using the same Jaguar V8, the Aghema GT featured modern sharp styling, but never reached production.

Volpi, and thus Serenissima, halted automobile operations before 1970.

On an interesting historical diversion, (especially to GTE owners!), arguably the most famous product of Count Volpi's Scuderia Serenissima was the Ferrari "Breadvan", built because Enzo Ferrari refused to sell Count Volpi a GTO, so he went off and built his own anyway! It was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini (designer of the GTO) but based on a 250GT SWB, developed to be lighter, better balanced, and more aerodynamic than the GTO. Here it is on it's way to winning this year's Kinrara Trophy, at the Goodwood Revival:

Yes, it certainly is - in fact virtually all the races were close and exciting :D All should be well worth a second (or even third) look. That was the first race on the programme, and Phil Keen (one of the drivers of the E-type) also took a major role in the very last race on Sunday afternoon (the Sussex Trophy). Worth a look too :D

On Row 10 of the 'TT' race was the 289 Cobra - no. 28 that used to belong to my friend......apparently now owned by Gregoire Audi & co-driven by the ex-GP driver Jean-Pierre Jarier...it had an 'off' on the last lap. Incidentally both Revival progs. are still available on the ITV Hub...

I sat on the passenger floor (no seat in) of that car when aforementioned friend took it for a shakedown through 16/17miles of Cheshire countryside....

Cool :D

I’m definitely going to add “hidden headlights” to this list, there’s some hilarious alternatives to boring old popups :D

The Triumph based Glenfrome Delta from 1977. Glenfrome are best known for Range Rover conversions.

The Delta was built by Ken Evans and Vivian Hunt on a tubular chassis, clad with an aluminium bodyshell comprising of a bluff nose with pop-up headlamps, and Maserati Merak influenced 'flying buttresses'. Mechanically it relied largely on Triumph componentry, with GT6 wishbones and uprights, the rear being supported by modified semi-trailing links from the recently discontinued 2000 range? A standard Dolomite Sprint engine was mated to a Saab Turbo gearbox and mounted amidships. There were plans for production and a Rover V8.

I like it. Almost like a scaled down Owen Sedanca Jag.

Nice - i can’t tell if the lights are completely hidden or it’s just “raising eyebrows” though, so in the lower list for now.

edit, definitely fully hidden :D

Single car designed on a Tipo 166 chassis by Giugiaro of Ghia (before he formed Ital Styling), Maserati opted for the Vignale design and called it the Indy.
