SE5 Electronic Ignition Options?
I'm wanting to convert my SE5 from contacts to electronic ignnition and I was wondering what the membership thinks is the best option for an upgrade based on their cars, there's various cheap crap kits on ebay but also seen these available

I have an accuspark (for a fraction of the cost of those).

Yeah, I’ve used that on standard road cars 4 times now. All good

I have to say... I don’t like lumination, they can be annoyingly unreliable.
I did 50,000 miles on a Aldon Igniter and that was fine too.

My coil is ancient so I'll go for a new coil as part of the kit, Does anyone know whever the blue Lucas DLB110 Specification, or the Red Lucas DLB105 Specification is the right one for an SE5, they're both for the motorcraft/fomoco dizzy.

Lucas DLB110 if you have a ballast resistor or eureka wire, DLB105 without.

SE5 Electronic Ignition Options?
I have been using accuspark (but I would avoid the stealth version ) I may have had a Friday and Monday one but it never worked properly from the word go. ok in the heat but useless when it was cold and I was driving all last winter so it gave me lots of grief.
I am temporarily on points again. but intend to go to a six pack coil and trigger.

Hi Jib, just my two pennies worth. I've got Lumenition on my 5a, but only had it for 27 years with no problems so it may be crap

SE5 Electronic Ignition Options?
My 6a came with Lumenition which combined with electric fuel pump and a modern starter eases starting after a week or two of rest. That said, I've found points ignition on all the other Essex V6 cars I've had quite adequate (occasional use) and very easy to maintain / fix.

I agree , points ignition does do the job but over time points do deteriorate. Modern points IMHO are not as good as the original Lucas . Once the Electronic ignition is set up it is fit and forget .
