Split Rim Compomotive TF

Post by scimjim » Thu Apr 05, 2018 9:44 pm

I don’t think I’m ever going to use these, so I’m thinking about selling them. Problem is, they’re so rare that I have no idea what they’re worth?

14” split rims with 4x100 PCD - I’m not sure of the offset or width but they were on an SS1 when I got them so I’d guess at ET30 odd and 6” width

I’ve cleaned one up without splitting them and could do the other three if required.

I’d prefer to swap them for something interesting - something like Cades Jadis or Rota BM8 for the SS1 or split rim Revolutions for the SE5?

Interested. If you could determine the width and offset that would be great.

Question for those more experienced in split rims. How difficult is it likely to be to obtain additional barrels / fronts? Are they relatively standard specifications?

14" split rim sections maight be tricky to find second hand, as it's not the most common wheel diameter. However MB wheels will make any rim section for you to order and they are about the most keenly priced. I've bought from them, they were easy to deal with.

On the website above, you can get an idea on price from the 13" rim sections

Alternatively, there's these guys too, I've not bought anything from them and again, they don't list 14" rims

Measured these as 6.5” wide and 34mm offset (110mm backspace) the wheel clears an SS1 trailing arm by about 35mm and I can comfortably get my hand between the rim and front wishbone and caliper even with the suspension on full droop and full lock.

I’ve had offers of £200 & £250 as they are?

Stick them on eBay and put Dub retro VW in the title and you should get 500 quid Jim. If the were 13s I'd have had them already or Ben wouldve. Lighter than 1 piece by a margin too
