Thanks again, guys!

On the bumper re-chroming, been quoted £550 for front (not over riders, as they are really good) and rear. 4 weeks to get it done. Will mull over that vs. stainless!

With it without VAT? You wouldn’t be the first one to be caught out by that...

Small update - new tank sender replaced and gauge now working, one shot suspension bush replaced, everything greased, original steering wheel fitted. I think it looks much better with the original wheel.

Also, photo of the engine bay and plate, which I forgot to post previously!

fixed - it’s a conflict between smartphones and the forum software.

Now that I know my way around the forum a bit better, it seems that the thread on my SE5a should probably be in the Projects section? Whilst it's not a project in the sense of some of the other talented and brave souls undertaking all the work themselves, it is a project in the sense of gradual improvements to the car which will take place over the coming months, or longer.

Anyway, question for the mods as to whether this gets moved.....

Cheers
Cliff

Thanks, Jim.

Bit of an update....having spent a couple of week with AJL, a number of improvements to the car.

New SS manifolds and exhausts (sounds fab now!)
Door cards redone with Foamex
Driver's seat rebuilt/repaired with webbing suspension (very comfortable now)
Passenger seat now has webbing suspension
New front seat belts
New Alpine DAB/bluetooth radio with hands free
New Alpine front speakers (rear will be done later, although the originals work)
New handbrake cable (old one seized)
New valve stem seals (alas, didn't cure the slight smoking, so engine rebuild required at some point)

And got an MOT :D Advisory on the steering rack - added to list of stuff to get done at some point.

Great work by AJL, very pleased.

Plenty of money yet to be spent to get it really good, but much improved already!

Cheers
Cliff

Ah, just realised that’s your car - I have popped down to Andy’s a couple of times over the past fortnight and seen it on the ramp :D

Hope you were impressed with the chassis, at least! As to rest, it'll get there!
