It's nice that the power plot on the graph starts way above the original max power.

Are you happy with the changes from the single turbo?
Throw it back in the car, ignore my fractured foot and I’ll find out

So far I’m dead chuffed

That’s some bloody good numbers for a lump often dismissed as “barely worth weighing in” 8)

:D 8) What impressed me is it’s on 270 degree cams and the powers at sensible rpm

Infact it runs out of flow, power drops right off after 7k

Limit of the 2 valve head?

Not an engine I've had a lot to do with TBH - never won any prizes, yet seem to never break either... An unsung hero? The torque curve must be more of a flat line at a guess?

Yes to all the above, intakes are abit short but I hear cars need suspension and things...

The hot versions of that engine were the RS2000 escort with 16v head or the Scorpio 2.3 16v

It’s certainly more Essex then Duratec in its design ethos

I was going to trial some sweeping bends as trumpet extensions on the CVH to get the tract length up to the 12 or 14 inches it should be. never found anything that suggested it wouldn’t work? I can see it possibly causing flow problems with carbs but probably fine with injection?

It’s a constant balance between low down torque/tractability and rpm for power.

In theory at the very least a plenum would be more suitable for this application, the world of tunings a compromise hey

Very true - the constant battle. You can see why variable inlet tracts are popular for OEM. .

Luckily I have a similar attitude toward throttle control as Mikey Bikey so it’s rarely an issue
