I’ve also gone back through the ones that are on DVLA to check the export marker and amended two entries.

Chris
When I bought SMO 727G from a chap in Devon he had another coupe( and a GTC) Which had a RON..... registration maybe RON 58G as above? Think it was grey and white paint scheme? Few years ago.
I shall try to contact him. Plus I have just contacted another chap I bought some spares from who has a damaged straight 6 in a lock up somewhere in south of the uk? (That’s all he would say).Hopefully might give details for the register as I have explained what you are doing

Hi Chris,

SRE 353G (900): I bought it in April 2018, it's in Warwickshire.

I did email Matt, when I bought it, but his list has not been updated.

Project thread here:

I'll create a new status 'not on DVLA'.
Rather sad to see how many are lost over the years.
Lost to the register but perhaps not lost to the world! In the UK, if a car was off the road before 31st January 1998 then there is no need for it to be SORN'd so there could be Coupes just sitting in garages or part-way through restoration. As long as it has an up-to-date V5C rather than the old logbook it is known to the DVLA but doesn't appear in their online records. The reg number is still assured however.

My Coupe was in this situation for a few years and the DVLA were extremely helpful when I queried the status. If anyone does have a car that isn't SORN'd but is being restored, it won't hurt to let the DVLA know. There's still no need to SORN it but it will then appear in their records. Guess how I know. :)

Now that SORN is a one-off declaration, it makes a lot of sense to register those cars now - you never know what the future holds in terms of changes in the law.

Good suggestion.

Chris, you show chassis 213 as "originally HMH1" - Is that definite? The reason I ask is that I knew the chap who rebuilt it (under its new number, PYY726D), and I thought he said it was previously HNH1 (which is on DVLA). However, HMH and HNH are easilly miss-heard, so I'm quite prepared to be told I'm wrong, if there is evidence for it?

(Also, ISTR from previous discussions, that numbers held on retention but not on a car, don't come out on DVLA, so we can't read too much into that)

Jim, can only see MFW export marked ?
Phil, RON was in a yard in Scoles in 2014, I think any reference to paint would be optimistic, but further details always welcome. :)
Ben, that's a lovely car and seems to attract racing drivers ...
Roger, that's interesting, I'm not sure why I have it as HMH, if HNH is on DVLA that seems more likely.

Nice seeing my old coupe on your page (JTS 842G). Last seen on ebay in May 2016.

Also interesting to see RRE 212G. Not sure if I've shared these photos before, but they were taken in the early 2000's in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. A number of years later I tried calling a local business (whose sign was in one of the photos) to find out if the cars were still there, or if they knew anything about them. They had no knowledge of them at all. (Couldn't even remember them ever being there.) Who knows where they ended up.

Is the date, the last time that cars details were updated?
Hi Guys. Just a note. gja 619d is listed as being red. I owned this coupe in 1975 and it's original colour was silver streak. wire wheels and a zf box. I believe this car is still in my area and it is being looked for. My present coupe jut 434e was in the hands of a member for years before I got it. Almost ready for paint. Oh yes. There is another one near me. I'll get the details. Cheers Phil D.

GJA shows as green on the DVLA site and untaxed since 28 Jan 1981.

I always understood that if the date of tax wasn’t the first of the month, it had been notified as scrapped to DVLA on the date shown?

I am very gratified by the response, it makes all the effort worthwhile.

Jim, I have changed my glasses.
Pete, great photos, if a bit sad. Any idea what is the reddish car?
Phil C, another one found! Hope you can get photos.
Phil D and Jim, no photos of GJA 619D so can't be sure, Matt listed it as red. If it turns up that would be a major coup. No idea about british car tax habits  but I hope it hasn't been scrapped.
