Silicone hoses for 1800Ti

Post by Mikelima48 » Thu Apr 25, 2019 7:16 pm

My car is due a coolant change and I thought that whilst it was drained, it would be a splendid opportunity to change the cooling hoses. Opinion seems to vary on the quality of what is available and the majority seemed to favour the silicone route. Classic Silicone Hoses were recommended and although they manufacture sets for the CVH models they do not produce any for 1800Ti varients. An email to them produced a negative response due to the possible numbers involved. I contacted Phil Andrew and he got in touch with CSH and received a more positive response. Apparently they need to produce at least 5 sets to recover their tooling costs. Phil has agreed to send them a 'standard' set as a pattern and buy a set. I'm willing to be the guinea pig, so the burning question is, how many 1800Ti owners are there out there who would be interested in a set of tailor made hoses that they can just fit and forget?

I think you’ll need to put an indicative cost on before people will commit?

I have a non-standard rad, so can’t fit a set of standard hoses.

OK Jim, good point, I'll ask. It's possible prices may decrease as orders increase but, I'll ask the question.

Don't forget the hidden 90 degree one under the inlet manifold.

"That" 180 degree emission hose would also be catered for as I know it's caused a few people trouble!

Waiting on me to put together a set of standard ones to weigh up approximate costs.

I meant the coolant hose under the inlet that you can't see from above.

Yes, my mistake, I am referring to that one and incorrectly remembering it to be related to the idle control system. Need to refresh my memory on the subject of 1800ti piping.
