Wiring troubles ss1 sabre

Post by Jonnybiker » Tue Apr 09, 2019 9:27 pm

Just bought a slightly unloved red / pink ss1 sabre. It has had a attempted theft, have keys but ignition wiring is messed up, I have marked up the wires finding it tricky following the wiring diagram. Might be missing some bits? What’s the best to get it going? There’s a blue wire circled in yellow no idea where it goes? Might be wrong the red and two browns go to the back of the barrel? Blue arrow points to some chunky wires? The small blue and green are to the light switch? Cheers Jon

The plug with the red, blue and brown/blue is the light switch (on the floor).

The loom on the right with the white/red, white, brown and green/light green is the ignition switch - you’re missing the electrical part of that switch (access to this is how you hotwire a car)

Blue is lights (difficult to tell exactly which one from that pic though).

I “think” (from the 2 pin plug with blue and blue/red) that you have the dim-dip wiring too.

Got it started! All bits work apart from indicators and headlights, they do pop up when you use the flasher! Gave it a quick clean and t-cut and it coming up ok. Engine sounds ok, feel a lot happier it running!!
