Forum Icons - what do they mean?

Post by philhoward » Fri May 11, 2018 12:11 pm

For old and new forum users alike, the following quick guide might help answer the question "what does this mean?"..

If it's got a silver background, you've read all of it.
If it's got an orange background, it's got new replies since you last read it, or you haven't read it at all
It it's spinning, it's a popular (hot) topic.
If it's got a red star, you've contributed to it.
It it's got a padlock, it's locked
If it's got a pin in it, it's pinned so stays at the top

Some examples:

forum_unread.gif
forum_unread.gif (1.41 KiB) Viewed 1318 times
You haven't read new replies to it, or haven't read it at all (it's a new topic).

It's a popular topic which you've read.
topic_unread_hot_mine.gif
topic_unread_hot_mine.gif (16.03 KiB) Viewed 1318 times
It's a popular topic you've contributed to, but has new content since you last read it.

If it's orange and you click on the icon, it will take you straight to the first new post.

Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.
