cutting up body

Post by 5eon » Tue Oct 06, 2020 1:35 pm

I have a 6A body which I want to cut up and save in the event of any body damage to my road car, any advice on where to cut and how to store, unfortunately I've run out of room inside.

Cut them as large as you can - corners and wheelarches are usual areas damaged. If it doesn’t have a sunroof people sometimes want a roof to fill in a sunroof hole in theirs. Rear hatch is secured on pins that run all the way across the roof at the back. You’ll also find that there’s metal tubes the length of the car, from the top of the front wings, up the A post and down the C post to the lights.

Always worth saving the front, I've lost count of how many fronts we've replaced, try to cut it off behind centreline of the wheel arches as they tend to break in the centre of the arches.
