HSE would not be amused. (The white cabinet is an old fridge/freezer - the cool way to store your tools 8)

Calliper mounting plate with excessive casting bits sticking up on the two caliper mounting ears ready to cut your fingers. They were ground back to normal surface level. Less paint now needed :)

From top to bottom - trunnion -washer-seal inside cupped water shield---methinks a previous person has been a bit heavy handed with the shields

And do you think the wishbone nylon bearing is just a bit worn or should I replace it?

The steering was not exhibiting any funny noises or feeling bad. I have fitted the grease nipples and been greasing the wishbone outers but I guess the wear was all there prior to my getting the car. At least with all the grinding and polishing off and less paint there is less unsprung weight so hopefully I will get better MPG and handling.

Great upgrades there, Dennis - is that nylon wishbone bush standard fitment?

Adam Yes the standard original trunnions had the NYLON bushes that press into either side of the wishbone and are a good push fit so are held in place and they rotate with the wishbone around the steel spacer that fits over the long bolt and gets locked to the trunnion etc.

Yes I am fitting a new trunnion kit.

Dennis
