SE6b numbers

Having been in the business of manufacturing engines, I can safely say that no manufacturer dumps old stock, likewise a car body manufacturer will marry up the old bodies to the old engines, offer them to dealers at a reduced rate. The dealers then try every trick in the book, including nostalgia, to sell them....knowing they may have them for a while.

Probably why I originally bought my nov 79 6a in August 80 new from a dealer! And I probably fell for the dealer waxing lyrically that the Essex was tried and tested and the cologne was.......German!

Which did Reliant produce last, a 6B or a GTC?
Talking about old stock, in the early 2000's I bought a new V8 Falcon, 17 months old for a BIG discount, only had 9 km's on it too.

Mark from down under.
Current GTE 6B, Scirocco R. Past Dolomite Sprint, XJS (manual), V12 E-type (manual, convertible, lovely) 350 chev XJ6, TR6, TR4, Sprite, Midget, local Ford V8s, others... There's a pattern here.….

According to the chassis numbers, they built 6 or 7 SE6b and 3 GTC in Feb 86, then the last 7 GTC in Mar 86. There is a story that two people asked for the last car to be built, so one got the last chassis number (#442) but the other person got the last car physically off the production line (presumably #441 as it was registered the day after #442).

The LAST GTE SE6B off the production line was sent Princess Anne
I doubt if anyone will ever know if it was chassis number 5865 because 5865 was paint code 99, non standard inc metalic.
I can`t find a listing for Royal Blue.
