Resistance is useless?

Post by ard126k » Tue Apr 23, 2019 12:16 am

I found this little chap sitting in the line from the voltage stabiliser behind the GTC dash. That red part is a coil of varnished wire which measures about 2 ohms. Question is, what would its purpose be? Taking it out to be photographed doesn't seem to have affected the instruments at all.

I think it’s a suppressor to prevent/reduce the switching of the voltage stabiliser from generating EMF interference. .

There must have been a lot of interference, there's 2 more suppressors around the VS! Can't check just now as the radio's u/s.
