SE6A &SE6B steering columns

Post by SJM » Tue Mar 26, 2019 11:53 am

Does anyone know if the steering column assembly - the upper 'fixed' part that carries the steering wheel, not the universal-jointed lower part - is the same on the SE6A & SE6B please?

I'd say they are the same.

A quick look at the parts list would confirm which I have just done and yes, they are the same.

the internal solid shaft with the universal knuckle joint on one end and the steering wheel bolted to the other is the same but its hardly fixed. the outer tube that bolts to the cross rail and glassed to the bulkhead changed slightly through production but they are interchangeable between the 6a and 6b as a whole assembly. I have some spares if you need a picture.

Many thanks Geraint & Phil. That's what I wanted to know. I have a 6B parts book, but not a 6A.
