Spark Plugs What are you guys using in the Essex V6 ?

My carbon -cored leads have each total 5-10KOhms depending on length. I'd guess that was plenty to justify a non-resistive spark plug, bearing in mind that copper leads have virtually zero resistance.

I can't help myself - I have to ask questions and find out why. Why ? Dunno

Sorry, I pressed edit instead of reply and changed my previous post asking what the resistance of the leads are

Magnecor (apart from their copper lead) list 2-3k ohm per metre.

The NGK datasheet says the resistor plugs are 5kohm which would tie in with resistive leads being around 5k.
the 7 version mentioned by Jim is a colder plug than the 6 but with the change to enthanol-based fuel there might be some advantage in running hotter plugs, especially in cars that do low mileage as there is a possibility of the ethanol evaporating out of the fuel whilst left standing. Sooty plugs tends to mean rich fuelling and/or cold plugs, I think.
The NGK CLASSIC CAR plug schedule lists the BP6ES for Scimitars.

The subject of spark plugs and running hotter plugs has been brought up a few times at work especially with older design engines & modern fuels.
Within the company the current advices for older engines is if there are issues with missfires or fouling of a plug to try a plug that is one heat range up from the normally recommended plug heat range if no other obvious issue.
Going by that I was going to try the scimitar with BPR5ES plugs as its currently fitted with BPR6ES.

Provided you have copper strand HT leads (and not carbon string, or Champion Plug Caps which have a built-in resistor) then those should be OK, I think.
