It was those pesky Ruskies! The IP address has previously been reported as malicious and maps to the Russian Federation. I don't know what they gain by this.

I have to log in twice a day on my iPad at the moment and it doesn't autofill either. Done full resets and cookie / data deletion to no avail (apart from causing me to have to re-enter all my other logins!).

Oh and I have lost my screen saver of Linda Lusardi now after the resets, unforgiveable!

I also have to log in on my iPad at least once a day and it's been like that for a few weeks. :(

Nothing has been changed regarding the login procedures for some considerable time. The changes must be in updates to the iPad operating system and/or browsers. Sorry but I can't help troubleshoot this as I don't touch Apple stuff.

i don’t think it’s Apple Ian, it’s not doing it on other phpbb, vbulletin or proboards forums.

All I can say is that it does exactly what it is supposed to do on all my Windows, Linux and Android devices. I am not going to start making changes to anything on the forum unless someone can diagnose exactly where the issue is. If Apple devices require something different from the server than other devices, I need to know what that is. If an Apple afficionado can research that for me I'd be very grateful.

The only thing that comes to mind about the persistent login issues is the difference between secure (https) and ordinary (http) connections. It may be that if you log in using https then viewing the site via http (or vice versa), that the browser does not recognise you as logged in. There are some inconsistencies in links that could cause this to happen.

I am going to make a sitewide change so that all links using http will be automatically re-directed to https links. Look out for changes in the site behaviour. Theres a good chance it might fix one thing and cause something else to break.

You may have something there Ian. I don't think that my 'phone running iOS 13 has the issue (though I rarely use it), but the iPad running iOS10 does. Maybe later OSs have accommodated the move to https?
