Anyone on here? Drove past a red/burgundy parked near Tooting Bec this morning. Looked very nice.

It’s mine, a ‘69 se5. I just had an unleaded conversion, heated front windscreen and everything gone through by Iain Daniels to use as my daily driver. It gives sense of occasion every time I go out and gets positive comments almost daily.

Yes, that is absolutely lovely!

Hmmm, heated front windscreen. I intend to use mine all year round, if not quite as my daily, and lack of demisting was always a right pain with my Scimitars years ago.....which I'll probably find even more so now, what with patience being inversely proportional to age (mine at least) and this will be my first winter with the SE5a. I need to read some threads on heated windscreens!

Wow ! That is an absolute stunner...you must be very proud.

Yes, difficult to keep them weatherproofed, unfortunately which Makes many reluctant to use them in winter.

I had the heated screen fitted at Iain Daniels Motorsport. I think he said it was one of the last ones he knew of.
Have you tried rain-x for misting on interior windows?

I haven't, but I will. Thanks for the tip! I'll keep thinking about that heated front screen. I thought the club sold them?

Lovely car - and great reg plate for a Reliant too! :D

It's still possible to acquire heated screens through the club, but sadly not standard screens. I'm looking into getting my current (original) one glass polished, as I don't use the car in winter and don't want to have the heater elements spoiling the look of the car. How visually obvious are they, fab.gtv?

Yes very proud. There such great cars when sorted.
I had a bad leak at the rear hatch and got it sorted while getting it fettled. The recent rain has not been a problem.

Tom, the heater elements are so fine they are difficult to see. I’ve used it once when I‘d taken the dog to the common and we were both soaking it’s a godsend.

A dog... allowed in that car!? I may well go down the heated screen route, as it would certainly be handy to have that facility when required. Hopefully it is wired in discreetly too.

Yes used for everything, even taking rubbish to the dump. Cordless vacuum is proving invaluable

Did you see me driving or was it parked? I didn’t seE your car. I usually see classics as I’m a bit of a car nut.
