A quick hello.
Acquired a GTE, SE6 or SE6a I am not sure, from my dad.
Its been a long term project that has progressed from storage to me due to a house move.
Plans are to try and get it running and driving.
Tidying the exterior and interior can be done once its back running.
That's the plan anyway.

Welcome :D

Get some pictures up.. 8) then we can start the SE6/6a debate on bumpers again but there’s an official chassis number changeover point based on the last 4 digits (1551 rings a bell).

Hi and welcome. Lots of piccies please! And if I were you I'd start a Project thread, keeping all progress in one place is useful.
Hope it's a nice blue colour! :)

Thank you for the warm welcome.
The GTE is currently being moved down the country via a trade contact as it was cheap.

it was registered July 1976 on a P.
Its being stored at work till I can move my project cars about.

Brakes I hope its got but mirrors I think not.
The last time I saw the GTE it was a flakey cream colour with random colour patches showing through damaged paint.

Hi and Welcome.
Sounds like it is an SE6 and Ivory Beige.
Good luck with re-commissioning everything.
Regards, Terry

GTE arrived at the company compound today along with few trade cars.
Was the cause of a little amusement and interest as it was unloaded.
It is a lot tattier than remember it being on the paintwork and the body.
As remembered it has no mirrors just holes in door.
Good points the brakes seem to work, discs very corroded. Front suspension looks in good order suffering from little surface rust but mostly fresh paint.
Dad must have already done the front suspension before its holiday in the shed.
Front brakes are 3 pot girling, red reflectors on the sides at the back and front bumper has ridges so confirms it is a SE6.
Some new spares in the back including a new coil, plugs, electronic distributor and a cheapo head gasket set which is a worry given the running issue.
Bad points are door frames are both very weak and rusted, engine wont idle and sounds like its running on a few cylinders less than intended.
Need to get the Freelander finished and gone so can get the GTE home.
Will do a compression test while its at work when we don't have so much booked in.
