Bill Brightons Scimitar Sabre Mk2

Post by MrGoldtop1960 » Sat Jun 29, 2019 4:11 pm

Advertising this on behalf of my good buddy Bill Brighton :D

Reliant Scimitar Sabre Mark 2
Constructed 1994. MOT until October 2019.
Due to owning a third vehicle, this Scimitar Sabre is not getting the use it should, so it has to go!
I’ve owned the car for approx. 13 years and have carried out many improvements, the biggest being the installation of a brand new Ford 2 litre Zetec engine. The car is sent to QRG each year for MOT and service and no expense has been spared on anything mechanical or the general running of the car. The car has recently received a full service by JKM Performance of Hilsea, Portsmouth
The car has been shown at the NEC Classic Car Show on two occasions which gives an idea on the overall condition! Furthermore, the car has been runner up in its class at the RSSOC National Sprint Weekend (Scimfest) also on two occasions.
As the car has received many innovative upgrades, it was awarded the RSSOC Stu Harvey Award in 2016 and won Best Interior at the Silverstone Classic in 2012.
This is possibly one of the best Scimitar Sabre cars on the road today and is extremely well known within the RSSOC.
Here is an overview of the current specification:
- Crate Ford Zetec 2 litre engine (Fitted 2013).
- Ford Type 9 gearbox with matching Ford clutch
- Limited Slip Differential
- Uprated front wishbones
- Uprated Volvo callipers with Vauxhall Cavalier discs to the front
- Standard rear shoes and drums
- Recently renewed AVO adjustable dampers all round
- 4 x KC 900 Throttle bodies custom fitted by Ashford Motorsport
- New ECU to match throttle bodies and engine by JKM Performance
- Custom built stainless exhaust and stainless exhaust manifold.
- Brise 65Amp alternator
- Uprated 60 amp/hour battery located in the boot.
INTERIOR:
- Fully re-carpeted interior that is all in excellent condition.
- Seats and door panels have been custom built and are matching in style and colour.
- Custom built speaker enclosures behind each seat that creates a useful shelf at the rear.
- Colour coordinated powder coated roll bar complete with high level brake light.
- Alpine CD & Radio and has Aux input for connecting smartphone.
- Boot compartment carpet. Underfloor cubby that holds the jack and wheel brace etc.

EXTERIOR:
- The car completes with a fully colour matched hardtop which is lined to suit the seats.
- Mohair soft top in good condition with powder coated framework.
- The paintwork to the exterior is in superb condition that sports a distinctive gold/silver metal flake stripe.
- The car comes complete with a tow bar that is detachable complete with electrics.
- The car has 4 x new tyres less than a year old fitted to custom made wheels.
- Good condition quarter light frames

There a few items that will be included in the sale of the car. These being:
- Stainless Steel fuel tank
- Dials for the dashboard
- Assorted spares that I’ve accumulated over the years.

PRICE: £8,750
Please contact Bill Brighton on mobile 07951 0666237 or email bbrightoncc@hotmail.co.uk. The car is located in Portsmouth.

If I had the garage space, this would be sat next to my 5a as shown in the last photo :D
Someone’s going to get a bargain with this car!
