Tiny choke circlip

Post by Crowther » Sun Jun 23, 2019 6:32 pm

Does anyone have a spare circlip for the choke linkage on a Weber 38 DGAS? Or a tip on where to find one please...

Pin up the part ‘photo’. I’m not near my workshop manual but as I’ve been messing with m8ne for the last 3 months I may have 1 not promising mind

It’s the tiniest circlip in the world - fits on the lever at the end of the choke flap spindle.

The lever part #37 usually stays in place in any case.

I have a couple if you other Yorkshirites want one each??.
They are actually E clips, not the circlip with the Ears for removal.

If you can't get the circlip, a spring clip would suffice. Plenty of sellers on eBay of all sizes. I bought a metric and a bs set and one fitted mine as I did exactly what you did!😁😂 (not sure which size).

They came from china, thought nothing to loose as so cheap.....and they arrived in three days!

Thanks for the offer Mark but I got a handful from Eurocarb. Should have checked back here first.

Now, if you have a couple of the little rods inside a K&N air box....

The clip was missing on the carb I got given to replace my stolen carb.
Ended up getting a clip out of my radio control car spares/pit box.
They are the same size as used on a team losi car I used to race so had more than a few spare parts in the box.
According to the clip packet the clip I used on mine is 3/32.

Mine had a couple of rods to stand the lid on the base. Female thread on the bottom, male on the top. One of 'em has disappeared.

Standoffs they are called.
There were at least Three sizes, they were tapped at each end to take either M6 or M5 screws.
IF you could measure the one you have left then I can certainly make one.

That's very good of you Mark. How much for a pair? They are 70mm total length including 7mm threaded at the top. The bottom is tapped to a depth of 20mm - probably more than is necessary. The fittings are M5.

OK
The easiest way forward is the make them with just tapped holes and use SS screws top and bottom??.
I`ve done a few like this and its better than trying to get a nut and spring washer onto the threaded part.
Would only be a Fiver completed posted?.
