Thanks Adam , not bad from 5 feet , any nearer and you start to see the bits of rash, and as Rebel pointed out , I have made a pigs ear of the sill trim that needs another attempt .It w'ont win any awards but it is a nice old girl and I like it . I asked myself , the other day , what would I do if the big one came up on the Euro , send it in to GW with a blank cheque ? No , it would not be my car then [that is no disrespect towards GW's ] . I remember when Ralph Lauren had his 57sc Atlantic rebuilt after Tony Bamford had "tidied it up ". He insisted that the restoration firm made all the panels as smooth as possible, therefore just about removing all the original panel beaters hammer marks , some times objects should wear their individuality. Wakeup Sully

Got up early today suffering from ebay hangover,[ I do'nt drink alcohol , but I am partial to the odd Sherry Trifle ] the little man in my head made me press the buy button on a pair of Stainless Bullet Mirrors at 10.45 pm. Never mind , they can stay in there box until I have made my mind up to fit them or leave it bare [ might put a picture up a bit latter of the car sans mirrors and we could have a vote , but I warn you that I might have to use a Donald tactic and veto it ]. Did a bit more putting the rad ect back in but rain stopped play 10 min ago so thats why I am here now tapping away and looking out the window . Regards, Richard .

Ever seen a dog without ears? That's like a car without mirrors

Thanks Nigel ,I have got some S/S Bullets on the way but I will keep your offer in mind . Scim Jim has a pair on 8 Ball which I thought looked good , but he said they are not really practical and I think he is going back to " standard " mirrors , still not sure with mine . Richard .

When I initially began to look for a Scimitar again this car caught my eye , apologies for stealing the photo , I thought the lack of mirrors enhanced the line along the top wing thru to the rear side windows , however I agree, that once you are familiar with your car with mirrors your brain does send a message that something is wrong , when they are not there . I can't find a word for 'attributing canine characteristics to objects', but I'm sure it's healthy

EDIT: Zoomorphism

Leave 'em off and put some "go faster" stripes on instead...just as effective.. :)

I will put that one down as a technical no . Even better , remove all the badges and get some Lamborghini Espada badges printed up and put on. " It's running a bit rough today , down on a few cylinders , needs a tune up ", who would know  Richard .

As part of GT Evolutions substantial "refresh" of my car, I've talked with Paul about changing my mirrors to something a bit nicer looking. So, I'm in the "yes to mirrors" camp, as I think the right ones look good on a GTE. But definitely not on the ings  Plus, mirrors are quite useful.

As to the Espada - mmmm, in my top 5 favourite cars! If only I had £150k to spare (plus budget for running/maintenance/storage...).

Evening all , well the count is , I think , 4-0 to date for mirrors on . I am abstaining at this point due to my veto option . I must say though , the initial desire for no mirrors has worn off a bit but I will give it to the end of the week before the ballot is closed. Have not done much to the car today due to other commitments but will start again on Tuesday, weather [ and my arthritis Rebel ] being ok . Regards Richard .
