No idea why no-one’s done it yet? Fairly simple wiring mods (probably needs a speed sensor) and I think the dash will drop straight in.

Not a lot from what I could see when it was at the Pre67 Ford Show last September. At a guess I would think, wrong time of year for a soft top, engine size, it's in Scotland and the owner is unlikely to move much on price.

I have looked at the adverts more than once but have resisted temptation! Aren't I good? :)

who says anything is wrong with it?

in the two seater sports world that asking price can buy one of number of decent capable convertibles so it has a lot of competition. Some current scimitar owners will say it is a "bargain" but never actually buy it them selves where as others will say it is expensive.
The fact it is in Scotland might make viewing an issue for some, you pays your money and takes your choice.

Tempting if only my arthritis would let me get in and out of her, sole reason I sold my Mgtf convertible with hardtop, 1.8, uprated brakes following a brain haemorrhage in 2016 at a large monetary loss and dependent on how I can get in/out of my 79 6a auto pas, owned for 22years, when I hopefully get the new AccuSpark ignition in this week and get her running, scim May have to follow and leave me with my 4.6 v8 Range Rover toy

I was tempted, not arf, but as remarked, I haven't received the inheritance yet - could be months.
A bit torn because although Kirsty's not the only SS1 in the NE, I very rarely see others at shows we're at, so would like to give her a refurb this year and keep her. :?

Unfortunately we have space issues for parking; can't park end-on as you do. That limitation means SWMBO says I have to sell K before getting another.

Hi guys

Despite my resolve last year not to buy any more small sports Scims due to the usual problems associated with old age i.e.getting in and out of them etc. and to get a GTE instead I am sad to say that I am being drawn to buy another small Scim. Having run the SST 1800Ti for a good few years and then a couple of Sabres one does grow attached to them. On that basis therefore I am looking into whether this Sabre would be worthwhile. I appreciate that it is a 1.4 K series but as my previous ones were 1.4 Fords I don’t regard this as a no go factor. Not at my age anyway. More used to just cruising around nowadays. Plus the fact that it is a late version. However I am waffling on bit so let’s get back to my reason for this post.

I appreciate that the car is in Scotland but before I follow it up Is there anyone out there who could go and view the car on my behalf? Reason for asking is a couple of things. One is that late last year I moved to Mablethorpe on the east coast so for me to go and look it would require a journey of 300 miles each way. The fact that I am the only driver (Marian doesn’t drive) and not knowing anyone round here well enough who could share the driving with me I don’t fancy a drive of at least 6 hours each way which could be longer if there are any traffic problems. Travelling up by public transport is not really an option either as this would incur many changes of bus and train and would take around 13 to 14 hours each way thereby incurring an overnight stop.

The other reason is that although on the face of it the car looks as if it would be OK I was severely ripped off a while back when I bought a so called well maintained Omega sight unseen on ebay and then found that after incurring a quite hefty transportation bill from north of Manchester that the recent new MOT on it was worthless and that by the next MOT I will have to despatch it to the scrapyard I don’t want to waste a load more cash.

If anyone can go happy to pay expenses.

Regards

Mike
