I have a heater...

Of sorts.

I took the existing matrix (which was newish) and plumbed it in under the dash. No cover or fan. Just the matrix to emit heat through convection. Blimey, it’s as hot as Pan’s People....

A 12v computer CPU cooling fan strapped to the matrix would probably spread the heat a bit?

Thanks all,

James, you know me too well....

Jim, I’d actually bought one at the start of the project, managed to rip the wires off whilst it was in storage, tried to solder them back on, lost my patience, so hit it with a hammer.

I might look at radiator fans as well,

hahaha - I have been helping someone repair and repaint his kit car locally and he has a similar setup (matrix and a couple of PCU fans) and said it was very effective on the classic rallies he did - proper stuff across Europe and through the Alps etc.

I had the heater out of mine. I tried to push the heater hoses on from outside and the pipes dissapeared through the bulkhead.
When I had got the whole lot dismantled all the foam round the matrix and on the flaps had turned to dust. I gave it all a good clean, a coat of paint, stuck some new foam on the flaps and round the matrix and put it back together. I hope to have a heater.

Drove 300 miles from Cornwall to Somerset and straight back. The car is finally becoming what I wanted, a fast, stylish, classic road car, that effortlessly takes me from a to b. The performance is intoxicating, which I need to curtail, but it’s effortless. Decent brakes and new suspension & bushes all round, the car is soundproofed extensively , decent heating good stereo, so your driving fast, enjoying the experience but it’s so planted, and you feel connected to the car / experience but not remote as a lot of modern cars do. And of course the exhaust wails, when you want it to, so the noise is fantastic.

Simply love it.

Oh, and being lpg it cost me £38. :D

Can’t think of much better ways to spend £38 although that was the price of a nice bottle of rum I’ve almost finished...

Nothing more than a heads up. The scim is my daily drive now. Just done 400 miles in two days, all weathers, just brilliant driving experience. So chuffed.
