He would have checked AFR whilst on the rollers I assume to check its not leaning out at full chat. Did he shove the probe up the exhaust pipe :?: Is AFR on your dyno plot :?:

hmm...his afr pipe wouldnt quite fit so he had his apprentice keep hold of it while the runs were done....a shed load of gaffer tape and asbestos cloth round the joint and the poor little bugger still couldnt keep hold of it for long...will have to buy oven gloves for him next time, but yes...afr done properly at full chat..6700 rpm rev cut...not too sure if the afr is on the plot but before and after runs are there for certain

Can't understand any dyno plot NOT having AFR trace line, just seems mad without.

So long as the AFRs safe, then the games on 8)

to be honest i was too busy looking at the power plot to look for an afr level...poor fella was shouting the afr to us while darryl was turning up the boost, so we know it's safe . Darryl has the print out with him so you can have a nosey when you see him

So the weekend appears to have been a success, I was a little disappointed with the pace but as several people have pointed out it takes time. Unfortunately, it appears that I have killed the brand new Exedy clutch we fitted as it has started to slip badly under boost on the way home. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to take the engine out again so soon. Aside from the clutch I have a few upgrades in mind, I will be investing in a limited slip differential as this open diff is pretty annoying, there will be weight removal going on too as it became apparent that the road going regs aren't as stringent as I thought and as we know weight impacts everything so it should be a great all-round improvement. once Phil has some 300lb springs in stock I will grab a pair of those as the 250's fitted at the moment are too soft really. I am also thinking of replacing the T2 as the exhaust housing is goosed anyway with a T25 which should have the added benefit of some more power once on the rolling road.

Darryl, don't be so hard on yourself, take a chill pill mate 8)
The car held together nicely and the clutch failed on the way home, so that was ok

As first events go, you did great. Saw some real progress on the test day, and with some minor tweaks the car will be bang on. You were driving well, and after a few more events the confidence will grow and the times will fall.

Great work and great to.meet yourself and Steve

Exedy clutches have had an issue with fakes, so unless you can see a reason for the failure may be worth checking it was 100% genuine.

Cheers Craig, I'm just impatient, we have both really enjoyed meeting everyone this weekend and I know I have learned a lot from the advice I've been given. Thanks for taking the time and giving me some tuition, frustratingly the lap I cocked up the left-hander would have been sub 70 I think given I still passed the line at 71:70, I tried to correct the yaw by trying to drift it on the throttle but I forgot about that bloody diff grrrrr. what I'm struggling to understand is why the next time out came to 71:80, it seemed as quick but tidy and not major mistakes, all very strange. in terms of the clutch I bought it from Euro car parts so I doubt its a fake, I'm thinking I didn't run it in properly and I have been pretty ham-fisted with it this weekend, it has definitely taken a kicking.

My Exedy has done a full season and is absolutely fine. Where did you get it from ? Edit (Ah euro)

Is it biting very high and can the slip be adjusted out?

BTW, I thought you did really well. The car looked great out on track. Get to know the car and you’ll go quicker. Seat time is more productive than messing with the car’s recipe in the early days.
