Hi, thanks chaps.

the tilton i bought is 7/8. hopefully it will be ok. some way off finding that out at the minute.
spoke too soon on no issues. the carb is flooding badly. so off at the minute checking float valve and heights as it is a second hand unit. fingers crossed its an easy fix. pressure is fine at just under 4 psi. edelbrock says it should be ok up to 6psi without a return.

i dont know what i have done wrong with the video link. can i upload from Google photos?

i will find a way. its still a good result for me i think. 8)

thanks for that Phil. i may have a go!

the good news is that i have fixed the carb issue (stuck float valve and incorrect float heights). so car running again now. :hurrah:

couple of exhaust blows on the homemade manifolds to sort out then back to the body for hopefully the last fiberglass repairs..

its moving along.

Had the same spacers in the front and can only say together with alignment via wheel nuts they sucked totally.
Had them replaced for proper turned parts (the ones on the picture are pressure cast.) that eliminated completely the shakey front axle I had..

Morning,

more for my build file than anything else. the slowest project around is moving again.
after a few deviations, on other things (trailer rebuild completion, home building, 6a and even a driftwood horse :shock: ) there is a bit of time to devote to the V8 project. purists look away now.

body has been rubbed down to gel, Lechler coats applied as per the paint experts advice on here to the upper body. Jotun underneath and inside.

rubbed down and more applied. still work to do as can be seen but first guide coat on. more sanding and stoppering to follow. then another coat or two before applying a 2k top coat. not going to be a professional job, but should be more than acceptable i hope... we will see. AJL and Speedy need not worry themselves.

every small step gets me closer to getting the body and chassis back together. couldn't resist fitting one of the side vents.. just to see... you know how it is

lets hope i post again before the year is out!

In a previous life in Composites and Grp the Company Painter/sprayer used a product Lasonol (I think thats how it's spelt) to prime the grp items it was polyester based and would spray thru a gun then flat down like primer and Jotun resin I always used their resins and gel coats and epoxy based paints for quality and costs. it is a Norwegian company
