What tyre size are you planning to run?

we are sticking with the 15" wheels for now, as I said before we are going to "try" the gearing as we have a few ratios to choose from, I could always swap to a lower ratio when visiting places like harewood and go with this taller gearing for Anglesey

Different aspect ratios will help when choosing tyres. It’s easier to swap four wheels than a diff. There is a surprising difference in feel/acceleration between a 45 and a 50 aspect on a 15” tyre. There’s also the 55 option should you want taller gearing, but there’s a good chance you’ll hit the front of the tub. 13” will give a wider choice, but they probably won’t clear your brakes.

I definitely want to stick with these wheels and tyres for the time being hence playing with the gearing, I have ordered another two quaifes to throw in the other differentials which should make it a quick swap.

there are zf boxes that are rated at 530nm ...the 330d box as an example, but i think they are a little larger and certainly more expensive to buy. but a 275 lbs/ft factory rated box will cope with whatever we throw at it in a 900kg car...until craig drives it i suppose

I’m not sure why your car isn’t sub 900kg tbh - could just be the weighbridge but you have almost exactly the same lightened panels etc as G97 (at 850kg ish). Not sure how different the engines are but I have a full cage?

Our hoop is twice as heavy as it needs to be, I wouldn't be surprised to find it weighs 25kg +

If anyone fancies trying the tyres I used at Curborough this year Extreme have just confirmed that they will also be on the 1B list for 2020 after which they are potentially going to be moved to the 1C list! Please use the link below if you are going to place an order, he will give me some money of my next set and I will buy you a beer

G130 YCF sprint car

Just a quick update, I did one last trackday on Saturday before the work begins and managed to embarrass some chavs most happy with the 370bhp golf R. Dads been in his element working on the 120d gearbox and its looking like a goer, the forged engine is off to the machine shop today to have the ring gaps setup and the bottom end assembled. I didnt fancy having a go at setting the ring gaps myself, the car itself is also off to Revlimit today to have the standalone ecu fitted, I have asked him to keep it pegged back to around 250bhp until the forged bottom end and 120d box has gone in then hes got free reign to do whatever he wants.
