Coolant leak

Post by Eric2205 » Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:07 pm

Hello,
Due to dipstick washer (dowty washer) my BW35 to replace, my scimitar remained immobilized for 3 weeks.
Passing under the car I noticed that it was losing coolant.
I can look and look I can not understand where this liquid can come from

If any of you have an idea I thank him in advance

Have you checked the water pump while the engine is running? There’s a hole underneath which will leak if the seal has failed.

Hi Jim,

I checked if it did not come from a core plug that is above the water, but I did not look at the water pump
All hoses and water pump were changed less than 2 years ago and less than 10,000 kms
I will control my water pump

Core plugs would have been my next suggestion - particularly the ones on the back of the heads. If you’re really unlucky, it’s the one hidden inside the bellhousing

This is clearly not related to the water pump, it is much more at the rear of the engine
