Se5 Windscreen Frame

Post by housemartin » Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:11 pm

Guys,
I have been refitting a second hand windscreen to the 1972 GTE and having previously cracked a windscreen as well as having a leaking rubber seal,
I thought I would make sure the gap was correct around the frame.

Are there any standard dimensions for the depth of the lip and recommendations on the size of the glass to frame gap?

Here are some photos of the gap?
Seal close to glass - very little rubber to stop the ingress of water . . . . . . . . .Seal close to body !

Seal centered between glass and body - does the fill strip cause this to happen?

Cheers
Dan

The car will be fine - but they are a bit of a nightmare to fit if not central. Where is the rubber from? A club trader or A N Other?
