Do you think that they can be unscrewed without their fixings falling into the void - I’d like to try replacing the tatty plastic straps with new (maybe leather).
My experience attempting to replace the door handles, when unscrewed their rear clips/fixings fell into the base of the door (door card removal an easy trick to retrieve them, couldn’t be repeated with the roll over bar).
Thank you,
Simon

they are fixed to a welded nut

the same straps were used in lots of period cars, including rolls royce.

Note they are Handed so that they will go forwards and then spring back.
If you put the wrong side on then it`s just a waste of time.

I have a few new ones but can`t remember part numbers.

Thanks very much.
If you have new ones - I’d be pleased to buy a pair from you.
Thanks.
