Yeah, I really miss the Minor I had but I’m glad I sold it before I accidentally threw a spare V6 in it

I was referring to the car I owned, not the V8 car pictured

Here are some photos of the Scimitars or Sabres that I managed to track down

First, here's Tony and Jacki's Sabre Six Convertible:

Next, the Coupe belonging, IIRC, to "dand" on the forum (the car looked good, but I didn't manage to see the owner)

Then, an Se6a that I don't remember seeing before - is the owner on here?

Another Se6a belonging to Terry (or was it Trevor? apologies, I've got a bad memory for names!)

Next my SS1, which topped-off about 600 miles over Christmas travelling to Cheshire and back, with another 120 miles or so going on the trip to Brooklands :D

I managed to miss at least two - Big Bill's red GTC, which I only saw in the distance, and Richard and James who were there in BBY

And finally, an honourable mention goes to Anthony, with his Rooster Turbo AC 3000ME:

I have to say a special thanks Roger - that last pic has answered something that’s bugged me for years, namely what the “second” inlet on the plenum is on the top of the carb. It’s a blow off valve!

To complete the set at Brooklands here's a couple of shots of the Red GTC and "BBY". A great turnout of Scimitars and Sabre's. Just need to get on with my 5a and bring it along - didnt spot a single 5 or 5a there this year.

Thanks Phil, we aim to please!

How could I miss BBY when "X" marks the spot!

It's difficult to select a few, when there are so many of interest, but here are some miscellaneous cars that caught my eye:

That rad/fan arrangement on the Saab was also used by Jowett IIRC? Obviously Jowett did it first..

Now something a bit closer to home. As i walked towards this, I thought it was an Ashley. However a closer look showed that it was actually an EB, made in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. Another of the Ford sidevalve engined specials from the late '50s/early '60s. This one was quite patinated and original, but running well. EB is actually very relevant to our cars, as I believe the chassis for the later EB Debonair was designed by Leslie Ballamy and also became the basis for the Sabra/Sabre chassis.

This particular car is notable under the bonnet, its Ford sidevalve engine has a contemporary Willment "Power Master" cylinder head, converting it to an overhead valve, crossflow layout. The original inlet nanifold, combined with the tubular exhaust, is blanked off, and it has twin weber sidedraught carbs on a custom made manifold on the opposite side of the head.
