Could also be a TF - I think they looked the same as the TE (I know someone with a very nice TF)
Just spoke to my Alvis expert (my Dad - he had "a few" back in the day) - it's a TE. TFs had spotlamps inboard of the headlamps, apparently..

Hmmm, interesting, I've just dug out a photo of the TF owned by a friend of mine, and yes, it does have spotlights:

However I noticed that Tim's TF has an earlier registration than the South Cerney car? So I did what I should have done in the beginning, had I had time, and looked on DVLA, and as far as they are concerned, they are both TFs - Maybe Alvis bought Reliant's build management system!
