NEC RESTORATION SHOW 27-29 MARCH CURRENT UPDATE POSTPONED

Post by ScimmyMike » Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:24 pm

As you will no doubt have seen in the classics motoring press as well as in our club magazine Slice we are displaying again, would be great to see you all there for a chat over things, we'll as usual have club merchandise available to purchase and you'll of course be able to renew membership perhaps even taking up our show discount for members joining via our direct debit system.

NEC Classic Car and Restoration Show - 27 to 29 March 2020
The Club will again have a stand at the 'Practical Classics' Classic Car and Restoration Show 2020 at the NEC.
Discounted tickets are available; see the advert in the Special Deals section. (members only as usual) we are in Hall 5 stand 590

Don't forget to book your advanced parking to at least save something from they silly prices at the NEC, the NCP parking at the airport option is also available this year once more, see Plan your visit pages for details

NEC RESTORATION SHOW 27-29 MARCH

Post by ScimmyMike » Sat Mar 07, 2020 10:07 pm

Evening all, quick bump for this event, if you haven't lready bought advanced tickets they are available online up to the Thursday we believe, after that it will be full price, don't forget to pre book your parking, cheapest option as the November show is the NCP carpark at the Airport though pretty strict timings apply so don't over run, see original post above, also save £4 off the standard £16 charge for on site parking.
Be great to see you there, we are in hall 5 stand 590 this year near the sporting bears charity classic car rides and Practical Classics Classic World area, we'll have the usual club merchandise for sale and if not already a member join up on our show direct debit offer and save for the first year, we also do a monthly direct debit scheme now, ask at the show.

Have just read elsewhere it's been cancelled/postponed?

Seen something posted on Twitter - and also on the FAQ page linked by Mike above.

EDIT: show website now updated advising of the postponement and announced already on RSSOC Facebook page.

Indeed Phil the organisers have taken the decision to postpone this event until later in the year, wasn't able to update here till lunchtime.
Anybody who is going for more that a single day and has made a non flex booking with Premier Inn should call on 0871 527 9222 to rebook it, other hotels see relevant booking pages for their details and processes.

nope, it's going to be the year of cancellations all round I think. Not even booking Classic Le Mans yet as we might still be on lockdown in July?

No-one knows - if UK.GOV is trying to postpone the peak until "May-ish", it may be a while after that before situation normal returns.

Yes, it's a real shame. :(

If anyone booked car parking in advance, the NEC say,
"Please note, for certain upcoming events, which have been rescheduled or cancelled, pre-paid parking bookings are currently being reviewed. Further information will be sent to your registered email address in due course."
Hopefully this will lead to a refund.
