Seeing the advert for Alexandre Motors reminded me of a bit of my memorabilia a calendar from 1964. Alexandre Motors was owned by Leslie Griffiths and son Axex Griffiths who with works backing rallied 42 ENX in 1963 and 1964. Alex then entered Sabre 6, 660 XYB as a private entry into the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally.

Weren’t SGT in London a Scimitar dealer? I seem to remember they did some international rallies and had a car with a personal plate (SGT) on?

Station Garage Taplow, near Maidenhead? I seem to recall them as a Reliant GTE place from my youth, though not 3 wheelers.

I remember SGT (Taplow) supplying demo cars at car shows in this area in the late 80's.
I'm also pretty sure they originally supplied my Ti, and the previous owner to me used them for servicing, all back in the late 80's to early 90's

It is now a carpet warehouse.
Now a carpet showroom too. :?:

My 1974, first 5a that I bought in late 80`s was Serviced and had at least Two resprays by them.
Wessex Green with 4 speed gear box and Tan leather faced seats.
I have a lot of history on it and it was first registered in Bradford, so more than likely supplied by Jowetts originally. 8)

I still have it.

Joss Randles Stoke On Trent Long term Dealership. Showroom gone under the A500. Randles name lived on as Vauxhall and Suzuki dealership.
Woodrim Cars Wolverhampton Dealership used by me in Se5 days. Not sure what occupies the site now.
Longton Garage, Longton Stoke On Trent - Fairly short term Reliant Dealership -long gone.
Reg George Market Drayton again short term dealership along with Volvo. Now Wetherspoons Hippodrome pub (origionally a cinema)
Derek Warburton Stockport Long term dealership again used by me in Se5 days. Presumably long gone or morphed into something else.
Most mentioned on here I have read or heard of as Reliant Scimitar Dealers, however deep in the grey matter two companies are recalled but I don't know if they were official agents - Black and White Garages in Bournemouth, and Bradshaw Webb in Birmingham.
All this nostalgia is good stuff but imagine those long into the future looking back at the glory days when we had QRG and Graham Walker!!!
PS Happy New Year to all.

Also, I noticed that one of the cuttings that Chris posted included Taylor and Crawley as "Distributors for the dazzling new Scimitar GT 'E' "

They are certainly still around, if you follow historic motorsport you'll be familiar with Taylor and Crawley and their boss David Clark, but they operate in a slightly different market sector these days. :)

I have a 1970 dealer advert for Bradshaw Web and Co (inc Taylor & Crawley Ltd) Address: 42a South Audley Street, London, W1Y 6ER, I can't see one for Black and White Garages as yet, but I'm still working my way through a massive pile of old adverts for car magazines :D
