Good or Appropriate Number Plates

An idea shamelessly lifted from Pistonheads, who have a "Real Good Numberplates" thread, I thought I would start one on here. I have always had a liking for plates with a pleasing (to me) combination of letters and numbers or plates that are appropriate to the car in question. They have to be correctly spaced and not butchered with additional screws though.

So what plates have you seen on your travels that have caught your eye or made you smile?

The ones that prompted me to start this were a couple I saw yesterday in an Audi dealership - GR 13 on a Audi RS5 Quattro and 2552 MM on a bog standard Audi hatch. Plates that make words can be good, on the M1 just before Christmas I saw SAT 1N and SCR 3W within a few miles of one another.

Place names as plates are another thing that I like, I have seen a few around here - FER 51T on a Freelander in a small hamlet called Fersit, ADV 1E used to be on a Merc in Advie but is now on an Evoque, L1 VET on a ford S-Max in Glenlivet and this one from Laggan: -

Here are a few others I have taken at car shows, mainly for the plate, not the vehicle!

It just reminded me of BLING!

A bloke up the road had a Ford Cortina estate with THE 80Y, he had a black plastic bolt head in the left side of the 8 and eventually sold it for squillians!

Best I ever saw was on a Lambo of all things. It was 'E602 BIG' and had been massaged slightly to read 'EGO 2 BIG'

Was passed by a Disco / Range Rover on the M5 a few days ago with the plate ADELE. We couldn't work out what it should have been ( or if it was just totally made up )

Ha ha, I'm loving the last one Will. Prior to the internet age that achronym would've probably meant something else.

Incidentally, didn't the GTC that recently went to France have those letters ?

A few over the years:

A friend told me of a local car dealer he knew who had an Escort van traded in, the owner hadn't twigged that the registration was ROL1S

On the same theme, I saw a Morris Minor in Hartlepool with the Irish registration ROi15

I remember a Mk1 Cortina advertised in Motor sport back in the 60s registered 51MON

A Capri in Leeds GUM800T which I liked

I was overtaken in Sunderland by a Rolls Royce Phantom BBC1

Another Rolls in Sunderland 21F

My GTE was originally TGG34, the plate went when I bought the car and is now on a Porsche I believe.

A neighbour had a Fiat 127 (which tells you how long ago it was) with DUM800T, but that didn't work as well.

One that I've seen a few times around here, used to be on a Porsche, now it's on a BMW - G4TSO

I've posted this one before I think, seen at Goodwood a few times (on a couple of different Lamborghinis):
