Red Sunbeam Alpine in the car park of the Dufftown Golf Club. I was "driving" past on "course" for some "tee" at my brother's.

While putting my bulb in the back of the fuel guage, outside, by the road, there was a 'toot' & an SE6b rumbled by.......(Recognised it, but nice to see it meander up the hill, after it had gone past!)

Whilst on a sunny 8) Sunday drive to Bakewell me, the Missus with a rather large Doberman in the back of the coupe  came across numerous Beetles, I assume there had been a show somewhere there were so many, a nice Rover P4, triumph herald, Austin A40, got a wave of most of them and several admiring glances from modern car drivers. :) :)

As am shortly to give a home to a large 'canine' Mike, am glad to hear they are compatible with Scimitars.....Oh, before I forget, I'm supposed to be acquiring some wheels/tyres from someone on the forum & he's going to 'Silverdale'...Are you or anybody, from 'High Peak', going......????

Well I think we've found the lowest point this threads ever likely to see - onwards & upwards :-)
I thought as a 4x4 person, that might strike a chord (albeit discordant!) with you Jim!

Anyway, moving from the ridiculous to the sublime, (and relating to Alec's earlier coment) during Saturday I saw this gorgeous DB4:

When you get the chance to spend some time looking at it, you really appreciate just how right the shape was. :D

Then at the end of the day I encountered a very rare car, a Morris Marina Mumford Convertible:

The owner said he'd bought it from an elderly chap who'd owned it for most of it's life, and it was still all incredibly original - you could see where Mumford had repainted it around the area they'd cut, as that paint had now developed microblisters, unlike the rest. It's all so redolent of the '70s with it's bronze paint and brown & beige interior. Read more about the Mumford Marina Here. :)

Hello Roger,

"When you get the chance to spend some time looking at it, you really appreciate just how right the shape was."

Isn't it just, understated and elegant (Even if the body was deisgned in Italy), the new Ferrari being the complete opposite in my view, it's really ugly. I always liked the Aston's twin fuel fillers, one each side and neat little catches inside with which the caps are opened.

An old light blue 911 convertable, on the aA38.

Not sure how old, it was on personal plates. It had steel / chrome bumpers so Wikipedia would suggest from the late 60s.

The Scimitar SS1 is not so much a car as a lifestyle statement; it basically says "I'm mad, and I don't care".

Roger, you missed out the equally nice AM V8 in the background. If that's your car park, you have some interesting neighbours!
