The seller seems to say it's in France currently, so I'd guess that it's the one that Jörg referred to recently, in this thread? Another interesting car for your collection?

The ad contains a few inaccuracies - It's not unique, (though it is rare) - it's one of the Martin Hall/Brian Turner convertibles which were made in '91 (and nothing to do with Reliant). If you go to the modified motors page of Dave Poole's site you'll find pictures of that specific car:

and also the story of the convertibles:

Oh no ... I am going to pickup the Ford on Friday, and I am afraid that the carpark at the office will be full then
They are going to keep me busy on week-ends now that I have reached the proper number of toys (5)

SE5 'GTC' for sale

Post by DARK STAR » Sun May 01, 2016 9:54 pm

Currently advertised in the UK, although the car is in France (Charente).
Nick Matthews is known to our services, his UK number is 07736421735 or e-mail nickamatthews@hotmail.com
Nice car, very unusual (especially in decent condition) and very reasonably priced at £3950 ...

1970 Scimitar SE5 CONVERTIBLE.!! Extremely rare. Very pretty car and quite probably a unique car. Excellent body conversion to convertible by B&M Conversions, a Bristol coach building company no longer around. Recently re-commissioned with new MOT & TAX (free), new brakes all round, rebuilt callipers, servo and master cylinders, track rod ends, rear pinion seal etc. New battery and coil. Good solid running condition, clean solid chassis, adjustable shocks, tidy interior. Very quiet, smooth and powerful engine, very good oil pressure, starts on the button, does not overheat. Overdrive 3rd & 4th, nice fast driving car, would be good on track. The body and paint is presentable with some usual minor crazing. Comes with lots of spares, new clutch & plate, starter, water pump, full set of fair condition chrome bumpers with rare front over-riders, spare s/hand stainless exhaust system and a marque specific tow bar kit. Comes with huge history files and complete sets of workshop manuals. The car is currently on hols in France but what a nice road trip to collect and drive her back to UK. Please phone or email if you need more info.

I've merged this with the thread that Jim linked to, in order to preserve the content for posterity (due to it having been earmarked for deletion due to age) :)
