1791 SE6a aka "Blue Comet"

Post by Wannig » Tue Aug 20, 2019 8:03 pm

A month ago I bought David's car, a blue SE6a.

This car was register in Spain before David owns it after an accident witch break left front.

Ten years after, the car is mine. I love it, it's a true GT !

David used it for ten years, and the car was able to pass Le Contrôle Technique (sort kind of MOT) with 4 new tyres. I found RADAR Dimax Classic witch look good at affordable price. I hope they ARE good tyres.

It has hundreds of things for made this car almost perfect. I have already change starter cables and had relay. Battery is now the right one at the right place.

I ordered (and received) a lot of parts : headlights, fan, thermostat, water pump, hoses, door panels... I also received central lock system (too many keys on this car) and powered windows kit (RHD life is not easy here in France)

I wonder if anyone here knows anything about this car ?

David told me it was register in Spain before he bought it.

Blue Comet had now power steering but its serial number says not. Also its color would be Artic Blue...

It does look good, and the matching Webasto is great.
It is quite a job to change from manual to power steering - even the wishbones are different.
And if the steering is in good condition it shouldn't really be necessary 8)
But if it's already done, all the better ...

Incidentally, I have a brand new in its box central locking system if anyone else wants one :D

What is the 1791 in the title? 1979 perhaps?

I see! That makes it quite an early one, only the 791st 6-series and the 240th Se6a :)
