MENSUEL DU THEATRE DE LA MER, GOLFE-JUAN (06)

As usual the gloomy weather forecast was wrong and we had a fine morning for the monthly meeting at Golfe-Juan.
Having covered very nearly 5 km to get there I could only stand in reverence in front of the BMW 3.0CS which arrived from Norway
There was another (BMW, not norwegian) which was finished recently and still running on trade plates, as was a very shiny Ford Mustang.
In fact all the cars seemed exceptionally shiny this month, even Dark Star which I had waxed for the first time in years.
I was parked between Gérard H’s MGB and a TR4 which both offered some serious shininess competition.
Unusual véhicles this month included a VW Karmann-Ghia convertible and an overgrown E-type (2+2).
There seemed to be an awful lot of Fiat 500’s scurrying around, and quite a few minis.
Only one Corvette - perhaps next month 8)

It's not because the 3.0cs has been designed by a French guy but this is a very nice car
And thanks for the photos!

That’s a E9 isn’t it (by Hofmeister, not the Bracq designed E24) - much prettier than the French guys attempt IMO :D

Yes, Hofmeister, according to Wiki but they don't give his nationality  .

I had to look it up - Hofmeister headed the “New Class” (1500/1600/1800/2000 and the 02 series) that saved BMW.

Bracq is remembered for the Mercedes pagoda roof, the BMW concept car that became the M1 and the “series” cars (3, 5, 6 & 7 series).

How about this for a design study on the 6 series - 8 series anyone?
