Electrical device Query

Post by Oaksey » Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:48 pm

Are these two thingies the same basic thing or do the same job?

A Google search suggested that the new one is a capacitor and I always thought the old one was a suppressor, but as I live in Cheshire, I'd like the new one.

(Background is the new one came with a new Ti coil and the old one was on the old coil)

Suppressors are just capacitors. Not sure of the equivalency as there are dozens of types for different applications, but I’ve definitely seen the small black square version on cars.

Cracking, sounds like it’s worth a go then. If something arises I can always go back to the canister one
Cheers
