GTC oil pressure

In my Cologne engined GTC I am using 0W/40 Mobil 1 fully synthetic and get near enough 50psi at anything over about 1,500 rpm and dropping down to about 20 psi at 500 rpm tick-over (stupid place to put oil pressure gauge where such big parallax for reading true needle position when driving!) Did I e...

UNHAPY WITH GW. The spares man got me to phone back next day to talk to a "man that knows" (dave?). I explained to that man that they had returned to me the wrong felt seals and that as my letter showing them photos of the 2 types to them showed, the correct ones were thinner and had a larger I/D so...

Would there be any interest in my webshop stocking it and maybe in time for sale at Curborough? AJL Do you mean you are prepared to stock and sell on at cost for the good of members or would you be adding a percentage as a trader? That would then be up to individuals what they are prepared to pay??...

Hi Dennis I’ve tried tonight to locate the website and find options for purchase. However, I appear to be going around in circles. Checked out eBay and end up with probiotic tablets. Are you saying I order it and have it delivered to me or alternatively you order it and send it on. Also I’m surpris...

Phil and Ron. For the first oil change use 10% (ten percent) by volume; thereafter 5% (five percent) by volume for further oil changes. - applies to engine, gearbox, axle and power steering fluid. So it depends on how often you change your oil (fully synthesised = longer periods between changes) as ...

Just for the record: I contacted MIRA and sadly their archive only goes back 20 years, so can't provide definitive answers to any of our queries. Dennis - are you now stocking the additive and making it available to members? Ref stocking it - NO. I just order when there are enough people wanting it...

That is for an SE6 fully loaded simulation? How often does one drive with those conditions. I set my spring seats with one passenger at lower wishbones parallel to ground so eye to eye slightly smaller than the 13.64 inch of the setting bar above. (i.e. only part loaded)

Hi Dennis, Presumably the MIRA "Weight Loss" figures relate to loss of metal due to wear? If so, over how many samples of components and also how many hours of operation? Given the second set of data refers to standard deviation then a sample size of 30 is the minimum, I think, for the Central Limi...

I once made a solid copper gasket for my BRISTOL 405 engine after having to have head skimmed to remove a badly burned groove between two cylinders after a gasket blew and I stupidly continued home with it. Bristol senior engineer advised me to just make the copper gasket the same thickness as stand...

I have been using SYNIONIC AFMT (Anti Friction Metal Treatment) for many thousands miles in the GTC. It started in USA as PROLONG and proved to the American standards people that it does what they claim (I have a copy of the lab reports). It is added to the oil of your choice (10% first oil change t...

Ah just found interesting info about the KBS v POR KBS coatings RUST SEAL vs POR 15 The author says:- I wanted to respond to several of the replies in an effort to get the users the best outcome regardless of the product they choose to use. First both POR-15 and KBS RustSeal are closed cell urethane...

deoxC......I diluted at 19:1 as per instructions which also say not to use stronger than 4:1. The 19:1 was nowhere near strong enough and some bits were submersed for a couple of days and still not cleaned up! I made up a stronger small amount and added to original but still took a long time to clea...

BEWARE different felt seals and housings for front hubs if you are about to order. 6375/6376 will not fit 6a, b, SE8. Just received felt/cups seals for my GTC from Graham Walkers.....I did specify for GTC. Wrong type sent....they are much too thick and inner diameter too small to fit over shoulder o...
