SE5 Heater Matrix bolts

Dave From memory (distance/failing) if you take the switch panel off you can poke around and see/feel the captive nuts. They are hidden in the sound proofing. The little buggers are a right pain, riveted with tiny rivets to the fibre glass. Cheers Steve. Typically I've just put all the dashboard/ce...

SE5 Heater Matrix bolts

I think you'll find that Steve's ratrod thread here (and the next few pages) has something about this (and it does look like 1/4 UNF is the size :) ) Thank Roger, thinking about it I don't recall undoing the heater matrix bolts as it came out with the heater box, so maybe they weren't fitted.. I'll...

SE5 Heater Matrix bolts

I've got a horrible feeling that the captive nuts have come off as i've tried various sized spare bolts and nothing fits so far

I'll have another look when it stops raining

SE5 Heater Matrix bolts

Hi all, I've rebuilt my heater and I'm ready to refit the heater matrix and heater. I can't find the bolts that fit the plate that secures the heater matrix. None of the bolts I have taken off during the removal of the heater box and matrix seem to fit, so I may have mis-placed them   Do...

Scimitar 4x4 Prototype to be Auctioned

Hi All, I went to visit the owner and see the 4x4 Scimitar in 2012. The owner was a private collector who bought it from the late BRM and Reliant Engineer John Crosthwaite. It took a while for me to negotiate with the owner to go and see the 4x4 Scimitar as he wasn't keen on people knowing where his...

Does RRF 186G still exisit?

That car also features in "Car" magazine dated January 1969, so it must be a very early SE5. I also have the full magazine article from Motor January 17th 1970 in which the Scimitar was used as a film car to 15 minute programme for the BBC for Schools and Colleges, called "Science Session" - Faster ...

Scimitar GTE SE5 Heater box

Hi All, Does anyone have a spare SE5 heater box unit (SE5a) for sale, as I've broken a bit off mine  Doesn't matter if it's broken as I'm only after a small lever part of it. The bottom picture shows the part i'm after (what it should look like), which is presses onto the splines. I've tried J...

Ted Laban

I've just heard some sad news that my good friend and Ex-Reliant draughtsman Ted Laban passed away on 28th of January. His funeral will be at Coventry Crematorium (180 Cannon Hill Rd, Coventry CV4 7BX) on 15th February at 2.15pm. Ted works on many technical drawings and designs at Reliant including ...
