Engine Height in the chassis

Hi Mike,

IIRC on a SE5a, the bottom of the sump is about level with the bottom of the chassis rails

Thanks

R888

Both R888 and R888R are E-marked, I was using a pair of R888R and a pair of Nankang AR1's yesterday, very similar grip levels

Rear Trailing Arms - Poly bush or rubber bush ?

Mine's polybushed all round, but I'm not worried about noise, I just wanted something that would stand up to the abuse it was going to get!

ss1 classic targa rally car

Good to hear you made it round your first event. Hope you enjoyed it
With the bucket seat, can't you use the bottom holes in the side mounts?
In my Escort I've cut the top off the mounts to stop these interfering with the side of the seats so I can get them lower

Bradbury Four Post Lift

Hi Phil, It looks similar to mine which has 14' long ramps, so you need at least that amount of depth in your garage. And it will be about 8' wide. It will dismantle into the 2 long ramps, the 4 pillars, 2 wheel free beams, 4 end beams, and various cables and pulleys - it will not fit into a van. I ...

breakdown Recovery AA vs RAC or who?

Looked at RAC a couple of years ago and looking at small print they seemed to exclude vans and other commercial vehicles Stayed with AA as it is any vehicle cover even if as a passenger Just have to ring them at renewal to complain, now fixed for 2 years at a price less than paid 4 years ago 🤔 This ...

On my personal laptop (using Firefox), I am always logged in. I assumed it was security settin...

By my calculations, you would need 30kg of ballast to get under 135bhp/ton

Snow and tyres

I've been out in my 5-series diesel last night and this morning
Having fitted winter tyres in December when we had a tiny bit of snow, it's the first time I've used them properly and I'm very impressed how much grip there is on the 3-4" of fresh snow we have at the moment
