Re: 1800ti low RPM miss under heavy throttle

Fixed it at last! My bargain Ebay coil might not have been such a bargain after all as it has now been removed and replaced by one which works much better.. I found a boost leak that I missed previously and installed a coil ground wire, cleaned up the other connections around the coil and cleaned th...

Re: Sabre Ti Sprint/Fast Road project

Some handy info on dual stage manual boost controllers here: http://www.gusmahon.org/html/boostcontrol.htm Many of the S12 guys have run up to 14 psi with an intercooler and a standard T2 turbo quite reliably, standard fueling should be ok for this boost too as it seems that the CA18ET runs a fairly...

Re: Sabre Ti Sprint/Fast Road project

Get the powertek one, you won't need a T piece, just one piece of hose (6mm i think) cut it in half, attach both to the valve, one hose goes to turbo nipple, other to wastegate, easy. If you're inserting a blanking plug in the inlet to replace the pop valve you can fix a single or double outlet to i...

Re: 1800ti low RPM miss under heavy throttle

Any idea where the electronics bit comes from - or the part number. 22020 17F10 IGNITION POWER TRANSISTOR is pre coil, I might get one priced up with Nissan to rule it out of my ongoing issue. If you meant the coil itself you can buy them for less than $15 via Alibaba, direct from the Chinese manuf...

Re: 1800ti low RPM miss under heavy throttle

Pants... It seems my original issue is not resolved as first thought. Oddly the 'missing' under three thousand revs had reared it's head again and left me scratching mine once more. It's only spark, fuel and compression but somethings still not right with one of them and it's time for more wallet su...

Another vote for a Yaris here.

Very high seats, good headroom, light controls, low sills, large door opening, very easy access for the old folks!

Re: 1800ti low RPM miss under heavy throttle

Just to tie this one up, the fault was due a weak ignition coil. I narrowed the spark plug gap and the 'miss' cleared up quite a bit, which confirmed a weak spark. For the record, a Daewoo Matiz 0.8 (800cc) / Isuzu trooper 1985 -1991 Ignition coil is an exact match for the Nissan coil with the part ...

1800ti low RPM miss under heavy throttle

Maybe you could save me some time? My 1800ti drives fine but if the revs are quite low and I apply heavy throttle, the car picks up but sometimes has a split second 'miss' before accelerating as normal. Light to mid throttle never presents the problem though. The timing is bang on, plugs are new and...
