Noticed just recently that a copy of "Scimitar Restoration" I have owned for quite a few years has Scimitar spelt with an "e" on the spine !

Re: To Cover or Not?

Hi Mike, I have had experience using a water proof breathable cover over a SE5a INSIDE a garage during the winter - it was an unmitigated disaster. Condensation formed on the corrugated concrete roof dripping water over the car, after a couple of months the car was covered in huge water blisters. If...

Re: Recommend a scim replacement

This makes more sense now, I sympathize with your predicament.
You need a Subaru Forester - one of the earlier models (X-reg). We have had 2, most practical cars ever + loads of fun to drive + comfortable over long distances + brilliant in snow + reliable + you can chuck bike bits in the back.

Re: Recommend a scim replacement

Hi, seems strange that people mad about Scimitars would recommend anything else on a Scimitar forum, that aside - Choosing a car is very much a personal thing and any recommendation is unlikely to tick many boxes for you unless they know you really well. My recommendation would be to take a good loo...

Re: Scimitar in Scotland????

Hi Dave, you're remit is exactly what I was looking for a few years ago, but when the right car comes along that will go out the window, probably along with the budget. I had definate ideas about what I was looking for , but when I saw the pictures of the black Middlebridge auto - I was hooked. The ...

Scottish shows - Thirlestane Castle

The BVAC show at Thirlestane Castle (Lauder) is on Sunday 5th June, I still have 2 spaces on the club stand free. Organisers have just informed me that this will be their biggest show todate with almost 1000 exhibits expected plus the usual autojumble, trade stands, etc. If anyone else is interested...

Classic car shows in Scotland.

If anyone is interested in...

Re: Just to say hi

Hi, first Scimitar was a white 5a, purchased in 1987, managed to hang on to that one for 19 years. Hoping this one will stay on the road longer though!
