Re: Scotland - Thirlestane Castle, Lauder

Mines still mucky, she is in disgrace after having to push her into the garage, think she has come out in sympathy with Des's 5. Started ok on Monday but found a rotten fuel line between tank and pump and the fuel temp sensor is shot so we'll see how she is after sorting those.

Re: Scotland - Thirlestane Castle, Lauder

Hi Frank, glad you made it back ok. Tom pretty much covered it , although once again we had plenty of mud to contend with. Cars stayed fairly clean going in, but coming out got them in a real mess - or was it just me ?
Best regards, Mark.

Re: Scotland - SDCCC Bridge Of Allan 20/05/12

Cheers Tom, we came prepared for the wet, the cold, and the rain - so we finished up sunburnt as well. Great day though even if the ground was a bit soggy, a big thankyou to everyone for bringing their cars and also to every one who came over to see the cars and have a chat. I don't think I have eve...

Re: Hi from Bo'ness Central Scotland

Nice motor AJ, that seems to be a very popular colour just now. Between you and Frank you sort of dispel the conception that SE6's look best in dark colours. Any one got pictures of a 2 - tone one ?

Re: hi

Hi Ryan, welcome to the forum. There is a red SS1 near Livingstone and a red SST in Falkirk. Both cars will be at the SDCCC show Bridge Of Allan on the 20th May if you would like to pop along for a chat and check out the cars. I have a spare pass for the show at Thirlestane Castle on the 10th June i...

Re: Hi to all from hartill is central scotland

I think using the right primer is the key, some are ok for metal but not plastic, some do both. If using 2-pack though, if it is baked to cure it you may find yourself with a sagging roof and droopy panels. Any one tried using a paint pad ? Noticed some of the new ones now are suitable for gloss - b...

Re: Weather - is it only me.

I know how you feel, I hate the cold and it seems to have been raining since that mild week in March. Forecast looks like more rain for the rest of May. I blame the people that complained about the hose pipe ban.

Re: Hi to all from hartill is central scotland

You might have something there Frank, recess the head light units a bit and tip the grill forward at the top ?
Will be very interested to see how you get on with rolling the paint on, I haven't seen that done on a car yet but its been mentioned by a few folk on here.
Regards, Mark.

Re: Hi from Bo'ness Central Scotland

Like most of us, you dont really know what you like - until you see it, but if you still hate them you could give them to me !!! I like them both. These pictures ( thanks Jim ) actually illustrate the point I was trying to make about reflections and loss of detail. If you look at the picture of "8 B...

Re: Hi from Bo'ness Central Scotland

Thanks Richard, I used to have a white 5a and while it looked great viewed from the rear quarter, it didn't quite work for the front. Satin black to the head light trims and behind the grill did help though. I think the problem with a highly polished white car is that the reflections from the paint ...
