Column multi switch and window switches

And the stalks are Vauxhall, but if the only problem is a broken clamp, it's easy enough to repair - my approach (in this link) was slightly different to Chris' :) Thanks Roger :D In preparing everything ready for MOT, I discovered wipers were not working again. Traced it to the column switch, whic...

Relay for rear fogs GTC

Thanks Roger.
On that basis, back to my original question - what rating should this relay be considering it has battery supply through the switch and the coil :?

Not sure why the ignition relay has 5 spades, there’s no reason shown on the wiring diagram?
Good point Jim. Walkers sent me a replacement which has 5 spades :?

Relay for rear fogs GTC

Two 21W lamps are 42W of course. I=W/E so 3.5A. I think any relay would handle that as would just a switch. That's why Reliant never fitted a relay. Melted terminals are due to high resistance connections caused by corrosion or poor connections. Andy, there is 2 further bulbs for the front fog ligh...

The only original relay under the dash is the ignition relay, but that has 5 'spades', not 4. The mainbeam relay is 30amps, as are the two I've added as per Roger's wire diagram for relaying the headlamps. I think 30 amps should be fine for the auxiliary lights, but just asking for a second opinion :)

Relay for rear fogs GTC

Resurrecting an old thread... Please can someone tell me what rating this relay should be? I've finally got to the reason the fog lights are not working, by changing the relay with a spare. Why I'm asking about the rating, is because the one fitted is rated 40amps continuous, and it looks like it's ...

wanted SE5a opening front quarterlight windows

The fixed ones were a Scimpart (Don Pither) kit, to get round the problem that the rubber seals were unavailable - and also that the levers were easy to seize and the hinge pivot also likes to break :( Now, thanks to the effort of a Scimitar owning engineer extraordinaire (Australian Coupe owner, Vi...

GTC at Brightwells

It is on the register, though I have filled in some gaps :) It appears to have been originally registered in Jersey, and more recently it's been in Ireland for a few years. I had an e-mail a few days ago from a club member advising it was entered for auction. A low mileage car too, according to the ...

GTC in Bristol Classic Show Auction 23 June

Peter, thanks for the VIN number. I'll update the register. It had Peter Misy's name against no.110, but no other details - which surprised me - but then again, there are members and long time owning non-members of Scimitars who haven't got in touch with the registrar's :D

Guy

Parts question

Inlet manifold is NOT from a Scimitar. It won't fit a V6.
I'd suggest it's from the pinto, but I'm no expert on those old Ford's :)

GTC Brake Servo Advise

I paid more than £100 just for parts to refurb my (admittidly) SE4 servo a few years ago. That does seem a good price for someone to rebuild one :?

I may be out of turn to say this, but it does surprise me that people complain at the price of genuine brake parts for our cars.

Philip, although I've happily bought lots of bits from 'autoelectricsupplies', personally I wouldn't recommend the lighting harness. In may just be me, but I felt the wire gauge was a bit light  for the application, even though I was also adding relays.
